Is Raccoon urine toxic?
The raccoon urine is toxic and has a strong smell. The urine is foul, having a nasty smell. The raccoon tears through insulation and matting it down and causing energy loss. They destroy attic fans, roof vents, walls, gable vents by their urine and droppings.

As you know, every animal has its body structure having germs that are hazardous to human beings. Every disease lies from specie to other species and has a different effect on them. The raccoon urine and droppings can be dangerous for human life because the harmful disease “Rabies” can transmit through them to you and your pets or other animals. They have a percentage of rabies 91%. Raccoon droppings contain microscopic parasites, and it is called the “Bayliscacaris procyonis.” And once it enters the human body, then the severe symptoms can emerge rapidly.

Another disease, “Giardiasis,” is an infection spread through the urine and feces of Raccoon. Raccoon carries this microscopic organism in their feces, contaminated water, soil, and surfaces. Humans can contract Giardia by ingestion of infective cysts from infected animals like raccoons and sources. Patients can develop severe gastrointestinal symptoms.

The smell generated from the raccoon urine damages the purity of air and pollute. It sometimes causes difficulty in the respiratory system. Asthma patients should stay away from any animal droppings because they have fungal and bacteria that produce skin allergy and asthma allergy.



There are some steps to remove raccoon urine smell are as following:

-The key to the successful removal of an odor is to get the source of the scent. Remove the Raccoon and their babies from the house because they find a place to live in your attic. So, make your attic Raccoon-free.

-Properly clean the area of raccoon living because the smell generated from the Raccoon can only be removed with time by doing proper cleanliness in that area and its surroundings.

-Remove the nest and feces of Raccoon and clean the place properly as well as soaked urine insulation.

-Saturate the whole area with LiquaSan, let dry. For serious issues, repeat this process if necessary. LiquaSan works excellent under load, and you will start to notice a difference right away.

-Ensure the area being treated is sealed. Painters tape around any doors or cracks works excellent! Make sure sunlight is restricted, so we recommend that a minimum of 12 hours overnight is used.

-Insulation should be inspected because Raccoon does pee on the insulation, which causes bad odor and weakens the insulation. If it’s necessary, then change the insulation.

-Do the proper chemical disinfectant spray on the area the term used is “Fogging” in which the particular enzyme-based cleaner destroys the organic matter.
